Why is it called a heinie?

It is derived from words based on the root word hind, meaning 鈥渢he back,鈥 as in behind (another euphemism for the buttocks) and hindquarters. Like other synonyms for butt, hiney is sometimes used to represent a person, as in Get your hiney over here! (This is called a synecdoche.)
