Why do people censor their eyes in pictures?

By James Austin

Censor bars are a basic form of text, photography, and video censorship in which “sensitive” information or images are occluded by black, gray, or white rectangular boxes. These bars have been used to censor various parts of images.

Why do people censor their eyes in pictures?

Human beings are extremely sensitive to the appearance of the eyes, so hiding them makes a person far more difficult to identify. Just as celebrities often hide just by putting on sunglasses.

Why do people cross out eyes?

It usually occurs in people who have poor eye muscle control or are very farsighted. Six muscles attach to each eye to control how it moves. The muscles receive signals from the brain that direct their movements. Normally, the eyes work together so they both point at the same place.

What are censor marks?

Censored mail can usually be identified by various postmarks, dates, postage stamps and other markings found on the front and reverse side of the cover (envelope). These covers often have an adhesive seal, usually bearing special ID markings, which were applied to close and seal the envelope after inspection.
