Why are my retainers loose on one side?

Over time, it’s possible that your retainer may stop fitting properly. Usually, this means the retainer has become distorted or misshapen, or that your teeth have shifted, likely due to irregular retainer use. If this happens, you can schedule a visit with your orthodontist for a retainer appointment.

Why are my retainers loose on one side?

If your retainer starts feeling loose, that’s a strong sign that it’s time to replace it. This doesn’t mean there is an issue with your teeth. Retainers wear down overtime and grow wider. This is why they can feel loose eventually, even if you have been good about wearing it.

Can you force your retainer to fit again?
