Dried mint is wonderful sprinkled into salads or spooned into dressings—I always add a teaspoon to the staple Middle Eastern chopped salad of finely diced cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions, sharpened with a squeeze of lemon juice and lots of extra virgin olive oil.

Can I use dried mint leaves?

When preserving mint at home, you can also easily prepare dried mint leaves, crushed mint, powdered mint, etc. Best of all, there are tons of ways to use the dried herb too – within spice mixes, for sauces and dressings, for mint tea, etc.

Is dried mint as good as fresh?

Dried herbs have a much more concentrated flavor, so the general rule of thumb is to use a third of the amount of dried as you would fresh herbs. Often a recipe will call for chopped fresh herbs in units of tablespoons. Since one tablespoon is equal to three teaspoons, use one teaspoon chopped dried herbs instead.
