What time do you say good evening?

The greetings change depending on the time of the day. For example, “Good morning” is generally used from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. whereas “Good afternoon” time is from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. “Good evening” is often used after 6 p.m. or when the sun goes down.

Is 4pm evening or afternoon?

In the USA, 4pm is considered afternoon. But it could be thought of as “evening” elsewhere.

Can I say good evening at 8pm?

Do you say good evening in an email?

“Good morning,” “Good afternoon,” or “Good evening” – these are classical versions of email greetings that is common for formal letters. “Hello” or “Hi” – these are the most traditional words for writing emails to friends or someone who can be addressed informally.
