Shippuden is made up of two words—shippu and den. Shippu is a noun and means “a swift, strong wind.” Den is also a noun and in this case means something like “legend.” Therefore we get “legend of strong wind.” In most languages, it gets translated more naturally to “hurricane chronicle.”
