What is the principal of a college called?

In universities, there is always an official who holds the highest academic position and they are either called the university chancellor or the university principal. A university chancellor or university principal is the person holding the university’s top official position.

Do colleges have deans or principals?

Whereas a principal typically heads a K-12 educational institution, a dean tends to be an administrator at the college or university level. Some middle, high and preparatory schools also have a position for dean of students, which is typically a combination of guidance counselor and assistant principal.

What does a college principal do?

As a principal you would be responsible for fostering and maintaining a clear vision for the future of the college. It would be your duty to widen opportunities for education within the community, driving forward both the commercial and educational success of the college.
