What is the cheapest card grading company?

Cheap Pricing – GMA is by far the cheapest semi-reputable grading company out there right now. With prices as low as $6 per regular card and $5 for certified or pack autograph cards, no one is beating them on pricing.

Is there an alternative to PSA grading?

SGC’s card grading services are slightly cheaper than PSA and begin at $10 for cards that are worth less than $250. They also have higher-priced submissions that are based on the declared card value and turnaround time. Their Express service is priced at $15 with 15 business days as a turnaround time.

Is HGA better than PSA?

Is SGC grading a good company?

Next company is SGC, another well-known grading card company. They’ve been in business since 1998. Pricing has very good ranges from about $25 to about $200 for cards up to about $3,500. They do have a pricing above cards for $3,500.

Beckett tends to be the preferred service for new cards, while PSA is an expert when it comes to vintage pieces.

Why is PSA so expensive?

PSA, the leader in card grading, dramatically changed its prices on Monday as the uptick in the industry left the company with a backlog of an untold millions of cards. Pricing in most areas has doubled. The lowest level, with the slowest service, goes from $10 a card to $20 a card and imposes a 10-card minimum.

Is a BGS 9.5 a PSA 10?

Everyone in the hobby knows that generally speaking, PSA 10 is the best “non super rare” grade that most cards can get. PSA 10’s routinely sell for as much as 2.5x their BGS 9.5 counterpart.

That said, many collectors are excited about the look of their slabs, which are colorful and customizable. It only costs $20 to submit with HGA for their “best value” service with 60 day turnaround, but again, you can only submit up to 5 cards if you are “lucky enough” to reserve a spot.

How much does HGA grading cost? HGA Grading cost $100 per card for a 2 business day turn around time, $55 per card for a 10 business day turn around time, $35 per card for a 30 business day turn around time, and $20 per card for a 60 business day turn around time.

SGC is a top notch grading company but they grade very, very tough. I’ve sent them hundreds of cards and have only received a small handful of 10’s. Having said that, for a modern card, I’d look to get it crossed over. Most modern buyers won’t be familiar with SGC and won’t give it the credit it deserves.

Does SGC grade thick cards?

SGC slabs are wider and taller than both PSA and Beckett. However, the standard size slabs are slimmer and with more prominent edges on the back side. It almost feels like if you were to squeeze hard enough with one hand that you could break the slab. SGC’s thick card slabs do not have this problem.

Is a Beckett 9.5 good?

They’re especially great for vintage cards of great value, and it’s easier to get higher grades with PSA than it is with BGS. BGS is preferred for newer cards mostly. However, Beckett is tougher on grading and a BGS 9.5 is just not as good as a PSA 10 or even PSA 9.

Beckett introduced the ‘Black Label’ in 2014; an exclusive label for customers whose card(s) scored 10 on all four subgrades. It’s a label given to a slab where the card has scored an absolute pristine 10; a card that is perfect in every way.
