Do you have to live on campus your freshman year at LSU?
Yes. Every student attending LSU as a first-year student must complete a housing contract to live on campus or complete an exemption request online.
Is Welcome Week at LSU mandatory?
We know that students who attend Welcome Week are more confident when they start classes and are more successful throughout their time at LSU. Attendance at Welcome Week August 15-22 is mandatory for all members of the Class of 2025, and we can’t wait to see you back on campus!
What happens at LSU orientation?
Orientation will provide you with information on LSU, employee benefits, retirement plans and parking permits. Employees eligible for benefits have 30 days from the date of hire (or date of eligibility) to complete enrollment documents and submit them to the Office of Human Resource Management.

How do you get a full ride scholarship to LSU?
Open to full-time freshman who is a resident of Louisiana or Mississippi with at least a 2.5 GPA and of “good moral character.” Financial need is also a consideration. To receive the scholarship, student must be enrolled full-time at LSU, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and be in good standing at time of the award.

The University reserves the right to tow and impound any vehicle for the following violations: An abandoned motor vehicle, in accordance with state law.
