Each rider is allowed to compete in a maximum of 5 shows per season. Hunt Seat riders in Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 11 need 18 points to qualify for Regionals and riders in Zones 6 ,7, 8, 9, and 10 need 15 points. Western riders need 15 points to qualify for Regionals.

How many points is each placing in IEA?

In IEA team competition, teams designate individual riders to compete for their team in the various classes. Those designated riders will accrue points for their teams based on their placing (1st place earns 7 points, 2nd earns 5 points, etc).

How do IEA team points work?

Points are tracked for individual rider accomplishments AND for overall, team accomplishments. Individuals and teams earn points to qualify for regional, zone and national finals. Teams take turns hosting horse shows throughout the season. New teams are NOT required to host any shows.

How many points do you need to point out in IEA?

In Zone 1 during the 2018-2019 season, a rider needs 18 points to qualify for regional finals. If they get these required points, they are able to advance to regionals. But if a rider receives 21 points or more, the rider points out and is required to move up to the next level for the following year.
