Yes, lotion does have a shelf life. Depending on the type of product and how you use it, there may be some give and take with the exact timestamp. But after a certain point, expired lotion just doesn’t work, and a contaminated formula may even cause irritation.

How do you know if lotion is expired?

On the back of your product, look for an open jar image. The image may contain 12M, 18M, 24M, etc. This tells you how many months the product is usable from the day it’s opened. Other signs of expired products also include a change in color, consistency or odor.

Is there an expiration date on lotion?
