Does 12am count as evening?

There are no standards established for the meaning of 12am and 12pm. It is often said that 12am Monday is midnight on Monday morning and 12pm is midday. This puts all the times beginning with 12 and ending with am in the same one-hour block, similarly with those ending with pm.

Is 12 midnight still evening?

12 midnight is 12pm or the end of the evening. If we take this to be true then we can see that military time as it is known uses 2400 because it is the end of that day and a full 24 hours otherwise why don’t all of our clocks say 00:00:00.

Is 12 o’clock evening or afternoon?

Answer: 12 O’clock in the afternoon is pm.

Ante meridiem is generally referred to as AM, am, a.m., or A.M. Whereas PM, pm, p.m., or P.M. are typically abbreviated post meridiem.

The count would start at January 1, 0001 – the first day of the first year. Each suceeding day therefore ends at midnight 12:00:00. The next day begins a nanosecond after midnight. So, it seems most accurate to say that each day ends at midnight, and the next day starts “immediately after midnight.”

Why are there 12 hours on a clock?

Anyway, as near as I can tell, the 12-hour clock goes way back to ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. The Egyptians used a 12-hour sundial to tell time during the daytime and a 12-hour water clock at night.
