Do Impala roller skates have a weight limit?

By James Austin

Our skates are tested to withstand up to 220lbs.

Can you skate if you are overweight?

Just like some skinny people can’t use a skateboard, some fat people can use one. Just get yourself an all around bigger board: bigger board size, wheels, trucks. Your size doesn’t matter other than the fact that the bigger you are the harder you’ll fall.

Are roller skates supposed to be heavy?

Weight of a skate barely affects the performance. It is so negligible that it only comes down to personal taste whether you want a lighter skate or a heavier one. So yes, the weight of a roller skate does affect the performance.

Where should weight be in roller skates?

Beginners and Improvers need weight on balls of the feet to maintain their balance and not fall over backwards. Intermediates I think the weight can be mid foot or just back from the ball of the foot, so the front and back will feel equal in terms of weight distribution.

Do inline skates have a weight limit?

Rollerblades Weight Limit

The weight limit for rollerblades is precisely 220lbs/100KG for most popular brands. You may find the weight limit of 60 KG in some kid’s skates.

Should you size up or down in roller skates?

What is important is that the skates have a firm fit around your feet without being too tight nor too loose. For some people, this means choosing the same size as their regular shoe size, while for others, going a size up gives the right fit. Either way, it is always a good idea to try your roller skates on at home.

Should skates be tight or loose?

I (usually) recommend that players lace their skates snugly through the middle part of the foot (the part of the foot that needs the most support), but that above the ankle (the top eyelet of the boot) they should keep them somewhat looser. More advanced skaters may choose not to lace the very top eyelet.

How do you not fall when roller skating?

While just standing in your skates, practice lowering your bottom to the ground. Later while rolling, you can regain balance or simply fall more gently, by lowering yourself closer to the ground. The single easiest way to prevent falling is to hold a hockey stick and use it as a crutch when necessary.
