The answer is a straightforward ‘yes’. You may think that you need to have a specific type of mattress to use on your bunk bed, but the reality of the matter is that you can choose any mattress you want, as long as it’s suitable for the bed.

What kind of mattresses go on bunk beds?

How thick should a bunk bed mattress be? The majority of bunks fit a twin/ single or full/double sized mattress between 6″ and 8″ thick. If you are unsure, we recommend a 6″ mattress, as this will ensure the mattress sits low enough that you won’t be able to roll out of bed past the guardrail.
