What does the Cricut scoring tool do?

The Scoring Stylus lets you use your Cricut Explore® machine to score fold lines for cards and envelopes, boxes, 3D projects, and more. The Cricut Explore holds the Scoring Stylus and a cutting blade at the same time, so you can cut and score in one step—without changing mats!

What tool do you need to score on Cricut?

What can I use instead of scoring tool?

When used with a straight edge (that remains straight), the non-serrated edge of a butter knife provides crisp, clean, scores. If you have a few sheets of card stock to quickly score, head into your kitchen and grab your trusty butter knife. When your done, make some toast.

Does the Cricut maker come with a scoring tool?

For Papercrafters: The Cricut Maker comes with the fine point blade and housing, which is what you’ll typically use for your blade. You may also want to consider the Scoring Wheel and/or the Debossing Tip. Papercrafts are usually made with the green Standard Grip Mat or the blue Light Grip mat.

Can I use Scoring Stylus instead of Scoring Wheel?

You can see it below as compared with the scoring wheel. The stylus has been the only Cricut tool for scoring for some time. You can still use the stylus in both the Maker and Explore models. In Cricut Design Space, when the software calls for the scoring wheel, just click “edit tools” and select the stylus instead.

How do you score on the Cricut explore AIR 2?

To insert the scoring stylus, open the accessory holder clamp A and hold the accessory clamp up while pushing the stylus down into the holder until it clicks and the arrow on the stylus disappears. Close the clamp and you’re ready to go!

Can you make a card on Cricut without Scoring Stylus?

To add patterns to your card, select it – just the card, NOT the scoring line – and then change the operation to “Print then Cut.” Next to “Operation,” there’s a little color box where you can change colors.
