Can you play Portal 2 remote play together?

Per Steam its as easy as starting a game with the Remote Play Together ability on the phone, which Portal 2 is. Inviting my friend to Remote Play Together from the Steam overlay, which I did. They accepting my invite, which they did.

How do you play multiplayer on Portal 2?
