The Screen Actors Guild doesn’t use the word 鈥渁ctress鈥 in is public materials and gives out its awards to female actors, not actresses鈥攖herefore a major legal entity in the film industry has essentially already abolished the actor and actress distinction. (The SAG Awards still do separate performers by gender, though.)
